Time to pull!

Let’s see… Um… Fuck. It’s late. I was woken at 7 AM by arguing roomis, and then I made the wise idea of spending all day at temple & got VERY little rest before blog. So, yeah! My iced coffee is keeping me going right now! Um, go check out another foodie posting recipes this blogathon! See!? I’m not the only nut doing this much work!

Now, for food in this article, I wanted to do something everyone could do as a party together… I thought and thought, then it hit me like a brick! Taffy! Yes, taffy! So lube up your hands and get ready to pull something long and… Okay. I’m stopping THAT train of thought RIGHT now!

2 cups Sugar
1/2 cup Water
1/2 cup Vinegar
1 t Cream of Tartar
1 t Vanilla

Boil the sugar, vinegar, cream of tartar and water in a LARGE POT until a little, when tried in cold water, forms a fairly firm ball.

Remove from heat and add the vanilla.

Pour onto several greased plates and, when cool enough to handle, grease up your hands with shortening and pull with friends until it has a satiny feel and holds its shape.

Cut into about 1 inch pieces and wrap in parfin paper.

If you want, Vanilla can be substituted with Peppermint or Lemon extract, too. For chocolate, though, you actually need to add in about 1 1/2 to two squares of unsweetened chocolate AS you are cooking the taffy! This will give it a rich brown color, and the sugar will sweeten it nicely. If you like what you’re reading, Sponsor Me! In the next hour I’ll be giving away the next cook book, all right? So do a sponsorship and get a chance to win a cook book! See you in 30 minutes, and Shalom & Good Cooking!
