Yup, he can’t go 24 hours without ranting…

So it amazes me that the people who are complaining the MOST about blogathon being so hard are the same ones doing one-line posts. I hate to say this, but…

You have NO RIGHT to claim blogathon is tough if you’re doing one-line posts. You lose ALL right to that! Stop complaining and make REAL posts! Okay, enough ranting… We have ANOTHER shabbat blogger! Go visit this blog and say hello!

Okay, so Utopia requested some Kosher Cuban food, so I’m reposting an OLD recipe JUST for her! Think of it as a best of recipe! What, none of you have read my archives, so hush up! It’s NOT cheating, just refreshing memories! I think she’ll enjoy this treat, too!

Plantains Fosters

4 tablespoons firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
12 Plantains, peeled and sliced
3 tablespoons kosher rum
1/4 cup kosher banana flavored liquor

In a medium saucepan, melt your butter up before adding the cinnamon, brown sugar, plantains, and banana liquor.

Cook over medium heat about 3-5 minutes, or until plantains begin to soften.

Serve spooned over a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream.

Remove from stove, and pour the rum over the plantains.

Light the alcohol while keeping the dessert FAR away from yourself!!! Flames will disappear when the alcohol burns off.

Eat and enjoy! (This should make 4-6 generous servings)

As for kosher rums, I suggest Bacardi (Eight, Gold, Superior), Cruzan Regular and Flavored. And for kosher banana liquor, look into Melody Banana Liquor. ^^ So, this was a trip down the archive walkway! We now return you to your regurally scheduled new recipes! Don’t forget to Sponsor Me in Blogathon 2006! Shalom and Good Cooking!

This gives me happy joy-joy feelings.

If they bother you, then maybe you should avoid them =)

Just remember you’re blogging for youself and your cause, not competing with someone else. So if someone else is gonna post one-liners then they’re only disappointing their readers and its the readers at the end of the day who you want to make pledges for your cause and who will return after Blogathon for more of what you have.

Wonderful posts by the way, the recipes look really yummy, making my stomach growl :3

  3. Bryan replied:

More importantly about those complaining bloggers: they care more about their aching body than the causes they are supporting. No dedication.

Great job on your blogathon efforts. 4 more hours to go.

  4. Caryn replied:

This recipe sounds so good … good luck during the ‘thon.

  5. Renegade Kosher replied:

Not for me, Bryan! Shabbat hours! I end in… 19 hours!

  6. Renegade Kosher replied:

Thanks Utopia, Labrynth, & Caryn! ^^
